Robert P. Guyton, Jr. Chairman
Rob Guyton is the Chairman and founder of Encell. From June 1998 to June 2005, he served as Chairman and CEO of Monarch Capital Partners, a venture capital fund focusing on early-stage, information technology and alternative energy companies based in the Southeast. In early 1996, Mr. Guyton co-founded Inktomi Corporation and served in various roles including a Board Member, President and Vice President, Business Development. Inktomi went public in June 1998 and was later acquired by Yahoo Corporation. Prior to Inktomi, he served as a Vice President in the Corporate Finance Department for The Robinson-Humphrey Company, Inc. Early in his career he successfully created two companies through acquisition—one in the collections industry called Convergent Resources, Inc. financed by CGW Southeast Partners, LLC and Harbor Payments, Inc., an online e-finance business financed by Marsh Ventures, Wachovia Ventures and Fortis.
Mr. Guyton graduated cum laude from Washington & Lee University with a BS in Business Administration with concentrations in finance and accounting. He also holds an MBA from Harvard University.
Mohan R. Krishnan, President and Chief Executive Officer
With over 30 years of experience leading a wide range of global technology-based companies and organizations, Mr. Krishnan joined Encell in February of 2013 as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Krishnan’s professional experience spans a broad range of industries including rechargeable batteries, automotive parts and systems, advanced aircraft engines and systems, and highly classified weapons and weapon delivery systems. Prior to joining Encell, Mr. Krishnan served for two years as COO and CEO, Global Business Development of The JPM Group, based in Delhi, India, leading a team of executives responsible for 13 independent companies and 20 manufacturing plants, and was on the Board of Directors. Prior to leading JPM, he served as an Investment Portfolio Manager and Proprietary Trader for Deutsche Bank AG from 1999 to 2010. From 1993 to 1999, Mr. Krishnan ran the Rolls Royce, NA Industrial/Marine Business Division (former Allison Engine Company). Mr. Krishnan started his career at General Motors Corporation in 1981, serving in many engineering and engineering leadership roles, including Program Director for the Joint Strike Fighter Program.
Mr. Krishnan has an M.S. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology.
Jim Lyons, Director
Dr. Lyons is a member of Capricorn Investment Partners’ Clean Tech group. Prior to joining Capricorn, Dr. Lyons co-founded Novus Ventures. Dr. Lyons started his career at GE in 1970 with engineering assignments in industrial control, automation, and power systems. Subsequent graduate studies concentrated in control systems and computer science with PhD thesis on Variable Speed Wind Turbine Generators. In 1989, he joined GE Research and in 1999 was appointed Chief Engineer for electrical & electronic systems with responsibilities for product applications across all GE businesses. He has been a corporate champion for renewable energy within GE and one of the founding leaders of GE’s wind energy business.
Dr. Lyons has a BSEE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 1970, a MSEE from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, 1981 and a Ph.D. from Cornell University, 1984. He is a Member of the IEEE Industry Application, Computer, Power Electronics, Power Engineering, and Automatic Control Societies. He has authored more than 25 technical papers and has been awarded 28 patents.
Dipender Saluja, Director
Dipender Saluja is Managing Director at Capricorn Investment Group, an investment firm based in Palo Alto, where he oversees investments in energy technology, cleantech, IT and emerging markets. Previously, Dipender was Chief of Staff at Cadence, and prior to that worked at Data General (now EMC), Honeywell and ROLM (now IBM). Dipender serves on the boards of Sunpreme, AST, Embrace, Liquidity, and CalStart. Mr. Saluja has a BSEE from the University of Minnesota.
Steven List, Director
Steven List is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Crestline Investors, Inc., an institutional alternative asset manager. Mr. List has more than 25 years of expertise providing executive management, interim management, turnaround, and financial/restructuring advisory services. Most recently he was a Partner of CR3 Partners, LLC, a national restructuring firm, with an individual focus on interim management, bankruptcy and M&A. Prior to that, Mr. List spent four years heading the corporate asset management group of Mount Kellett Capital Management, a $7B Private Equity firm focused on special situations investments in North America, Europe, and Asia. Earlier in his career he worked with Mattress Giant Corporation, Crossroads LLC, and KPMG. Mr. List received his BBS in Accounting from the University of Oklahoma, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) and Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA).
