Encell has built an experienced management team with established expertise in entrepreneurial ventures, electronic and power supply design, manufacturing, research and development, battery design and packaging. Encell’s business development team has a substantial track record selling to the worldwide telecommunications, utility and renewable energy, U.S. Government, U.S. Military and foreign government markets. The Company’s technical team represents over 100 years of experience in the battery industry and includes key roles at five battery companies, including design technicians, directors of engineering, research and development executives, and manufacturing and quality control leaders. The team members have experience launching dozens of new battery designs in multiple chemistries.
Mohan R. Krishnan, President and Chief Executive Officer
With over 30 years of experience leading a wide range of global technology-based companies and organizations, Mr. Krishnan joined Encell in February of 2013 as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Krishnan’s professional experience spans a broad range of industries including rechargeable batteries, automotive parts and systems, advanced aircraft engines and systems, and highly classified weapons and weapon delivery systems. Prior to joining Encell, Mr. Krishnan served for two years as COO and CEO, Global Business Development of The JPM Group, based in Delhi, India, leading a team of executives responsible for 13 independent companies and 20 manufacturing plants, and was on the Board of Directors. Prior to leading JPM, he served as an Investment Portfolio Manager and Proprietary Trader for Deutsche Bank AG from 1999 to 2010. From 1993 to 1999, Mr. Krishnan ran the Rolls Royce, NA Industrial/Marine Business Division (former Allison Engine Company). Mr. Krishnan started his career at General Motors Corporation in 1981, serving in many engineering and engineering leadership roles, including Program Director for the Joint Strike Fighter Program.
Mr. Krishnan has an M.S. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology.
Robert Guyton, Jr., Founder, Chairman and Chief Business Officer
Mr. Guyton is the founder of Encell. From June 1998 to June 2005, he served as Chairman and CEO of Monarch Capital Partners, a venture capital fund focusing on early-stage, information technology and alternative energy companies based in the Southeast. In early 1996, Mr. Guyton co-founded Inktomi Corporation and served in various roles including a Board Member, President and Vice President, Business Development. Inktomi went public in June 1998 and was later acquired by Yahoo Corporation. Prior to Inktomi, he served as a Vice President in the Corporate Finance Department for The Robinson-Humphrey Company, Inc. Early in his career he successfully created two companies through acquisition—one in the collections industry called Convergent Resources, Inc. financed by CGW Southeast Partners, LLC and Harbor Payments, Inc., an online e-finance business financed by Marsh Ventures, Wachovia Ventures and Fortis.
Mr. Guyton graduated cum laude from Washington & Lee University with a BS in Business Administration with concentrations in finance and accounting. He also holds an MBA from Harvard University.
Randy G. Ogg, Chief Technology Officer and Director of Research and Development
As Encell’s CTO, Mr. Ogg is responsible for all aspects of battery research, innovation, design and development, chemistry, manufacturing, testing, quality assurance, and plant operations. He has over seventeen years’ experience managing battery design, manufacturing and quality control. Prior to joining Encell, he served as Chief Technology Officer for Battery Park Industries in Gainesville, FL from 2004-2005. From 1999-2004, Mr. Ogg served in many capacities for Moltech Power Systems/HuaYi, Shanghai, China & Gainesville, FL and its predecessor Moltech Power Systems, Inc. Prior to its sale to Moltech Power Systems in 1999, he served in a number of quality control and technical design capacities from 1994 to 1999 at Energizer Power Systems. Mr. Ogg also worked for Proctor & Gamble, in Cincinnati, OH as a Process Development and Research Engineer. He has extensive research, development and design experience with rechargeable battery chemistries, including NiMH, NiCd, NiZn, LiIon, Li-Polymer, LiS, AgMH, and AgZn. In addition, he holds Six Sigma Master Black Belt and ISO 9001-2000 Certified Lead Auditor certifications.
Mr. Ogg holds a BS degree from the University of Florida at Gainesville with a major in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Botany.
Halle Cheeseman, PhD., Vice President of Engineering and Product Development
As Vice President of Engineering and Product Development, Dr. Cheeseman is responsible for all company product development activities, including applying technologies, scientific theories, and concepts to meet Encell’s business needs. Dr. Cheeseman provides technical direction and guidance as well as hands-on project management for all product development, driving the development of prototypes to products for manufacturing. With over 31 years’ experience in the battery industry, Dr. Cheeseman’s career started at Duracell, enjoying 16 years of increased responsibility. During that time, Dr. Cheeseman built a 300 person operation for production of computer and video camera NiMH & Lithium lon batteries. Next she spent six years as SVP of New Product Development and Operations at Rayovac where she championed and directed the New Product Development Process that lead to a 50% increase in productivity. In 2008, Dr. Cheeseman joined Exide Technologies where she developed a global engineering organization for Clean Tech markets. During her time at Exide, Dr. Cheeseman successfully led a team to secure a DOE grant and led the development of batteries for a successful Start Stop business.
Dr. Cheeseman earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry and Materials Science and her PhD. in Corrosion and Electrochemistry from the University of Nottingham in the UK.
Christopher C. Maier, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Maier has served as the Company’s Chief Financial Officer since April 2011. Before joining Encell, he worked for 8 years for Gypsum Management & Supply (GMS), the 2nd largest interior building products company in the US, with $2.5+ billion in revenue in 2007. He was in charge of GMS’s Internal Audit during 2003-4 and served as Regional Accountant from 2004-2011 overseeing the accounting and controllers at 10 of the company’s 45 subsidiaries that included manufacturing, wholesale, and distribution companies. He also assisted or led in due diligence of company acquisitions, company closures, external audits, hiring controllers, training, serving as interim controller, and implementing new accounting related technologies. Prior to GMS he worked from September 2000 to December 2002 in public accounting in both tax and audit. From January 1988 – August 1998 he worked at Maier & Berkele, his family’s high end retail jewelry chain founded in 1887. He served as operations and sales manager in the Atlanta market and managed a staff of 32 FTE in retail, corporate, insurance replacement sales and office administration from 1994-1998 with $12.5 million in annual revenue. In 1994 they merged with Mayors, Inc. and went through the IPO process choosing instead to remain private. The firm grew to 24 stores, with 450+ employees, and $143 million in annual revenue when sold in 1998 to Jan Bell Marketing (AMEX-JBM, now AMEX-BMJ).
Mr. Maier graduated from Georgia Tech with a BS in Management. He also holds an MBA from Emory University. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
Stephen S. Eastham, Vice President of Manufacturing
Mr. Stephen Eastham joined Encell in May of 2013 as Vice President of Manufacturing. Prior to Encell, Mr. Eastham served for over 30 years at Printpack, Inc., a world-wide leader in flexible packaging, specialty rigid containers, labels and medical packaging, where he led division and plant turnarounds, multi-site manufacturing management and continuous improvement systems. Since 2004, Mr. Eastham was Printpack’s VP of Operations, responsible for expanding Printpack’s standardization, improvement and recapitalization initiatives across 26 plants in 5 countries. With direct responsibility for Engineering and Quality Management functions, Mr. Eastham oversaw Capital Expenditures, quality assurance, process stabilization and improvement, and best practice adoption including Lean manufacturing principles. He initiated a 6-Sigma-based system to efficiently analyze and eliminate sources of waste, reduce variability and lower costs, and institutionalized the improvements through an ISO-9001 certified management system. Mr. Eastham also served as COO of Diversapack, LLC, Printpack’s minority-held flexible packaging partner, and was responsible for all aspects of the business–P&L, organizational development, operational excellence and sales.

Harsh Chopra, President Asia Pacific
Mr. Chopra joined Encell in April 2013 as President Asia Pacific to establish manufacturing and distribution partnerships in the region. Mr. Chopra was Country Manager / Managing Director of the Indian subsidiary of several multinational companies during the last 12 years – Bausch & Lomb, Luxottica, Intertek and Adizes Institute. Prior to that he has worked in senior management roles in Hindustan Unilever. He has diverse functional experience covering manufacturing, supply chain, marketing, sales and profit centre management. During his tenure as Managing Director of Ray-Ban Sun Optics, the listed Indian subsidiary of Luxottica Group, the stock price appreciated 4 times.
Mr. Chopra is a gold medalist Chemical Engineer from IIT – BHU.
